Our Story

Made by hand, with care

Ashcroft Memorials was founded in 1968 by James Ashcroft, a stonemason who believed that a memorial should be as individual as the person it remembers. More than fifty years on, the same values guide us: honest advice, careful craftsmanship and genuine kindness at a difficult time.

Today the workshop is run by the third generation of the family. We letter and finish every memorial ourselves, so the hands that guide you through the design are the same hands that make it.

How It Works

Gentle, step by step

There’s never any rush. We move at a pace that’s right for you.

1 · Design together

Explore ideas in our online designer or over a quiet cup of tea. We help you choose the stone, shape, lettering and any emblem or motif.

2 · We take care of the details

We prepare a scale drawing, obtain the cemetery’s permission and give you a clear, fixed quotation before any work starts.

3 · Crafted & installed

Your memorial is hand-lettered, gilded and fixed by our own masons, to the cemetery’s regulations — and cared for afterwards.
